C.O.R.E. Digital Pictures located in downtown Toronto has an immediate opening for an experienced Character TD to join the team to work on a dynamic new pre-teen animated series that will be aired on a major U.S. television network.

Job Duties:
•Determine appropriate modeling approach and required rigging setups and tools for proper articulation and movement of characters (and complicated props);
•Performing rig aerobics to find the potential problems/limits with a rig before handing out to pipeline;
•Make timely corrections to personal or team member’s work when required;
•An ideal candidate will have an artistic eye for modeling, excellent technical knowledge of rigging, and strong scripting experience (for front-end tools);
•Building and setting up tools (MEL or Python) and procedures for modeling department (front-end) to speed up/automate modeling/rigging/texturing process.
•Supporting rig fixes for a big production pipeline: In this role the individual must be able to find solutions for broken assets at different stages of pipeline (modeling, layout, animation, lighting, comp). The variety of fixes includes (not limited to) complicated shot fixes (layout/anim), broken rigs, mismanaged models in the shot, following up asset management procedures;
•Being comfortable to work and maintain in-house rig building tools to produce custom built rigs (for a variety of characters, from biped to quadrupeds, multiple limbs, multiple heads and wings;
•Regularly contribute to the production management wiki, sharing new knowledge or time saving features/processes with peers
•Additional duties as required
