Sony PlayStation: Developer Support Engineer

Developing a real-time embedded application on powerful custom game hardware can be a daunting task. This position exists to help our group provide developers of products for PlayStation platforms with all the expertise and support they need to deliver high-quality games on our systems, specifically with respect to graphics implementation.

Responsibilities:
• Candidate will assist licensees in maximizing the graphics capabilities of PlayStation platforms within their particular game engines. The role focuses on integration, optimization, and the explanation of new and novel techniques as they apply to the hardware.
• Undertake graphics-related projects, creating sample code or materials to demonstrate and clarify techniques for utilizing the graphics hardware.
• Contribute to the development of platform-specific graphics tools.
• Maintain an awareness of upcoming graphics-related technologies such as initiatives, protocols, techniques, and tools which directly affect the game market.
• Will be expected to contribute in other areas on behalf of the group such as working to establish game policy guidelines and hardware test procedures, advising standards committees, or collaborative development of graphics-related technologies.
• Candidate will present to developers, in small to large groups, when needed during conferences or on-site training.
• Will periodically travel to support group activities, such as visiting a development studio or to collaborate with an internal team in another location.
