Web Production Artist

Description

The Gnomon Workshop, producer of high-end training DVDs and tutorials for 3D modeling, visual effects, concept art and illustration is hiring freelance WEB PRODUCTION ARTISTS to support its website, marketing and advertising projects.

You'd be responsible for working with a project manager to develop preliminary deliverables, designs, and implement them via HTML and CSS or as graphics using Photoshop or even After Effects and Maya. We work a lot with Wordpress so familiarity with theme development and a little PHP would be preferred. We end up working a bit with Flash, so basic Flash and ActionScript familiarity is a plus. Experience designing and producing campaigns for banner ads and HTML newsletters is also important. When necessary we work with freelance developers to assist with more technical work. A bit of print work comes up too, such as designing promotional flyers and postcards. Ideally you have an understanding of Best Practices and User-Centered Design.
