General Accountability

The Senior Art Director is responsible for the creation, communication, and delivery of strong, cohesive, compelling, and powerful visual styles that inform and direct artistic efforts commensurate with AAA game development for current-gen consoles (X360, PS3, and Wii). In every respect, the successful candidate is a leader and art evangelist in all phases of game development, from the preparation of design documentation, conceptual drawings, reference material and storyboards to the definition and planning of work, from asset creation to post-production and final polish.


The successful candidate will:

•Work with the Producer and discipline leads to ensure product vision and visual quality goals are met.
•Lead the art team in demonstrating a high level of creativity, originality, and respect in treatment of both licensed and owned intellectual property.
•Work with Technical Art Directors, Art Production Managers, and other direct reports to establish and enforce art processes, schedules, tools, budgets, best practices, task definitions, & pipeline issues
•Demonstrate and clearly communicate expectations for quality of work and professionalism to the art team
•Provide strong leadership as a mentor for artists in their daily work and overall career development
•Ensure pre-production goals are set and met through the testing of new concepts, techniques, and pipelines
•Establish and drive a regular art review process within the team
•Define problems and bottlenecks in the production process and provide solutions
•Participate in the selection and recruitment of new art team hires
•Continually drive for quality through ambitious, guided creative direction
