Executive Producer (Video Games)

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, a division of Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Inc. is looking to fill a newly added Executive Producer – Casual position, responsible for overseeing all phases of development for a portfolio of game development projects from the concept phase through release.

The Executive Producer is responsible for the identification, selection, negotiation and ongoing management of external game developers and other third parties to ensure high quality games delivered within established budgets and schedules.

The position manages a team of game producers, at variously levels, and maintains oversight of all projects handled by subordinate staff ensuring the identification and communication of product goals, project progress, quality, and any risks.

The Executive Producer manages project communication and reporting with WBIE stakeholders and executive management, as well as external stakeholders (e.g. filmmakers, other WB divisions, etc.).

Position ensures strong linkage with the marketing group to position products effectively with consumers and retailers. The Executive Producer also reviews and approves project milestones and related payments.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Production Process:
• Executive Producer manages a collection of the company’s game development projects within a defined product category.
• Work directly with business development on Developer Agreements (including the creation of product Milestone Schedules) and communicate production related issues to the appropriate parties.
• Serve as the executive contact with assigned external developers throughout the production process and oversee developer’s high-level production processes.
• Oversees the review, comments and approval of milestone submissions.
• Budget management against individual product P/L’s.
• Develop strong relationships to establish and maintain a reliable and timely flow of information and materials to all parties as necessary.
• Identifies and establishes required asset pipelines on the production side to ensure timely delivery of assets as required to promote and publish the finished product.

Strategic Planning:
• Work with the VP, Production with regard to:
o Creation and management of franchise plans for specific product IP with a particular focus being games made for the mass market or “casual” gamer.
o Creation, implementation and management of WB Games production processes, policies and procedures.
o Identifying and/or selecting quality development partnerships for the production of future projects.
o Improving and evolving the WB Games production and organizational management structure.
• Analyze competitive products and new business opportunities and make recommendations to senior management.
• Work with other Warner Bros. and Time Warner divisions (including WHV, DD, GBM, Theatrical, Television and Animation) to identify and execute synergistic opportunities.

Communication:
• Coordinates and liaises with all necessary departments and divisions to facilitate execution of projects and materials in a professional and client-centric manner. This includes keeping WB Games and WBIE department heads apprised of products status.
• Works closely with the appropriate staff to research and identify and/or obtain clearances for all materials needed for Sales, PR, Marketing and Distribution use.
• Keep all key stakeholders informed of product status and vision through the preparation and presentation of appropriate project materials (including milestone updates, work-in-progress presentations, etc). Key stakeholders include internal WB divisions such as Theatrical, Consumer Productions or Warner Premiere as well as filmmakers, talent or other external parties as needed.
• Manages brand assurances of assigned products adhering to Warner Bros. standards and brand approval requirements.

Due Diligence:
• Participates in the due diligence process for external development partners.
• Represents Production concerns for assigned projects during Slate plan development and ongoing “green-light” meetings.
• Represents Production during all Milestone Assessment Group ongoing activities for assigned projects.

Personnel Management
• Writes and completes timely performance reviews.
• Mentors and develops Senior Producers, Producers, and Associate Producers.
