The Digital Capture & Devices ("DC&D", Research & Development group is looking for an individual to fill the role of Director, Digital Capture & Devices User Experience ("DCDUX"). The DCDUX team is located at Kodak’s worldwide headquarters in Rochester, NY.

As Director, Digital Capture & Devices User Experience, the qualified candidate will provide leadership and design direction to DCDUX organization: Sr. Systems Architect, Creative Director, User Experience, Portfolio/Discipline Managers, Visual Interaction Designers, Industrial Designers, CAD Specialists, Human Factors Specialists, and external design consultancies.

The Director, Digital Capture & Devices User Experience reports directly to the DC&D R&D Director. The Director will take User Experience Design, for the DC&D product portfolio, to a world-class level by improving design quality and creating user-centered design solutions that ensure imaging product excellence that meets or exceeds customer needs and positivity impacts Kodak business growth and success.

Responsibilities Include:


Scope of responsibility spans across tactical product commercialization to strategic advance development of concepts and design languages for the business

Executes on processes to formalize the execution of user-centered design within a variable workforce business model.

Drives design recommendations into DCD units for implementation

Improves the quality of User Interaction Design to increase revenue and earnings for Kodak

Manages and develops upcoming design management talent: hiring, retaining and developing world-class design talent

Management, supervision and direction for Sr. Systems Architect, Portfolio/Discipline Managers, Visual Interaction Designers, Human Factors Specialists and external design consultancies

Overall management of DCDUX operations:
-Financial planning, administration, personnel performance evaluations and rate reviews, etc.
-Interface between other DCD disciplines: Marketing, R&D AD and Commercialization groups, Operations and ODMs
-Overall responsibility of DCD User Experience success
