Description
SUMMARY OF POSITION: Monolith
Productions seeks a Video Editor who will be responsible for planning,
scripting, blocking, capturing, and assembling the video production for internal
game projects. The VE will work closely with project producers and cinematic directors.
JOB QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
Work Experience
· 3+
years experience or equivalent as an video/film editor
Education, Professional Training, Technical Training or
Certification
· Degree
or extensive experience in Film/Video Production or Communications preferred
Knowledge/Skills
· Must
be proficient in one or more types of non-linear editing software (Premiere,
Final Cut, Media Composer, etc.) and postproduction tools (After Effects,
Photoshop, Illustrator)
·A
thorough understanding of current codec technology
·Strong
understanding of shot composition for video and screen captures
·Strong
understanding of visual storytelling
·Strong
understanding of signal flow and video editing technology
·Ability
to take direction well and request information or ask questions when needed
·Strong
understanding of how to operate console and computer games
·Passion
for storytelling and movies
·Strong
verbal and written communication skills
·Excellent
troubleshooting skills
·Excellent
communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
·Ability
to work well under pressure and deadlines
·Ability
to take feedback and creative criticism professionally, using it to refine
projects
Other Requirements
·Experience
in television/film production a plus
·Experience
with YouTube API formats and success metrics a plus
·Experience
handling and using production equipment such as cameras and lights a plus
·Experience
with Apple computers and Mac OS a plus
