Assoc. Chair of Creative Business Leadership

Description

SCAD seeks a creative business leadership associate chair to lead enterprising students through management education designed to equip them with advanced business acumen and tools required to make astute strategic business decisions. Our graduates are empowered to be proactive and pragmatic leaders, as well as inspired designers of innovative business models and strategies to revolutionize the creative sector. The associate chair will inspire students to build and lead the enterprises and firms that advance the future of arts, culture, entertainment, technology and design.

As part of the university’s creative business leadership faculty, you will have an opportunity to advance students’ knowledge in strategic thinking, data-driven analysis, complex business concepts, innovative customer value generation, financial planning and management, and design of agile business strategies. Working alongside highly motivated and diverse graduate students, faculty find opportunities to lead collaborative studios to create innovative businesses.

As full-time associate chair of a department at SCAD Savannah, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the department and work closely with the dean of the School of Design to provide operational support and strategic direction for the program. Additionally, you will work with the faculty team and department leadership to build a substantial reputation for the quality of work produced and create a strong sense of collegiality. This position also assists in the recruitment and placement of students in internships and careers. SCAD professors have the opportunity to teach in cross-disciplinary classroom environments.

The ideal candidate demonstrates superior leadership and communication skills, and ensures that all services related to the academic offerings of the department are planned and delivered at the highest quality. You should be an enthusiastic educator who possesses passion for business design, a strong desire to share knowledge through experience and persistence, and the ability to motivate students and faculty to think creatively and critically. A demonstrated record of business design leadership, project management, and innovative and clever business planning is essential, as is a desire to mentor exceptional students.

You must be able to apply high-level innovative and state-of-the-art theoretical and practical models to the field of entrepreneurship in order to prepare students for rapidly evolving careers. College-level administration and teaching experience is preferred, and the ability to efficiently manage administrative duties is required.
