Director Creative Development

Madison Square Garden Entertainment Corp. (MSG Entertainment) is a leader in live entertainment experiences.  The Company presents or hosts a broad array of events in its diverse collection of venues: New York’s Madison Square Garden, Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden, Radio City Music Hall and Beacon Theatre; the Forum in Inglewood, CA; and The Chicago Theatre.  MSG Entertainment is also building a new state-of-the-art venue in Las Vegas, MSG Sphere at The Venetian, and has announced plans to build a second MSG Sphere in London, pending necessary approvals. Specific Functions/Activities

• Help execute the creative strategy for Sphere, working with both internal MSG departments as well as external creative and production partners.

• Manage the development of the project slate: conduct research, as well as track, evaluate, and help develop programming from pitch to production.

• Pitch content; identify IP to option and develop.

• Create and review decks, one/three-pagers, and other presentations for internal and external project review.

• Provide written project notes.

• Create weekly development reports.

• Maintain a thorough overview of the competitive landscape.

• Create, maintain, and update lists of potential creative partners.

• Lead, mentor, and develop junior team members.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 3 or more years of relevant work experience in media and entertainment.  Major production company, agency, or studio experience preferred.  

• Enthusiasm for considering the unexpected, especially as it pertains to creative innovation.

• A strong affinity for collaboration in all aspects of the job.

• Deep knowledge of a range of entertainment industries (trends, players, companies, projects), with a strong interest in new media, film, and theatre.

• Excellent communication and writing skills.

• Extremely organized, with excellent attention to detail, thoroughness, and accuracy.

• Strong MS Office & Apple suite skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Keynote, Pages, etc.).  Also, strong skills re: Gant and Shotgun.
