The Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design (MIAD) seeks a qualified candidate to fill a full-time faculty position to teach in its Interior Architecture and Design program. The college is looking for outstanding educators who can prepare students to be innovative thinkers and practitioners of 21st century design.

The ideal candidate will be skilled at achieving a broad range of strong learning outcomes and have a noteworthy background in the practice of Interior Design. Teaching at MIAD is learning-centered and student-focused. It requires a clear commitment to working closely with undergraduate design students and creating inclusive spaces of belonging, equity, critical discourse, and integrated learning.

This position will begin in fall 2023. Teaching duties are nine (9) credit hours of studio-based courses per semester as well as academic advising and committee responsibilities. Salary and rank will be determined by the candidate’s teaching and professional experience.

Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of three (3) years college teaching or commensurate experience in Interior Design is preferred.
- Clear industry record of innovation and success in Design practice.
- Documented experience with course development is preferred.
- Expertise in design process skills such as research, visualization, 3D CAD modeling/rendering, VR is required.
- Ability to consistently deliver curriculum, teach, critique, and provide quality feedback at all student levels from freshman to senior level.
- Evidence of working successfully in a collaborative team approach to teaching.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Teach 18 credits annually (9-credit load in the fall semester; 9-credit load in the spring semester)
- Serve as an academic advisor and committee work as assigned.
- Instruct in-person unless the course is assigned to be delivered virtually.
- Cultivate and make connections with local, national, and international design communities, and integrate these connections back to the classroom for the benefit of your students.
- Consistent professional skill development to maintain parity with industry standards.
