JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Lead Cloth Simulation Artist will lead a team of artists and participate in creating cloth simulation for an animated episodic TV series.

# Lead a team of artists to achieve weekly and episodic productivity goals while maintaining the aesthetic vision of the production.
# Produce Cloth Simulation shots on a weekly basis with an expectation towards handling the more complex shots.
# Oversee cloth simulation technical production for current episodes.
# Guide shot specific problem solving efforts as well as aesthetic decisions pertaining to simulated garments.
# Maintain and improve garment production pipeline and implement new garment production tools as necessary.
# Specify and maintain technical standards for garment modeling and animation rigging for simulated garments in general.
# Guide production and development efforts related to simulated garments for future episodes.
# Partner with other production departments, both internally and externally, to achieve the goals of the production.
REQUIREMENTS:
# Formal training via a degree - in any of: computer graphics, physics, mathematics, software engineering, or its equivalent work experience, is a plus.
# 5+ years experience in a 3D production environment.
# Knowledge of Maya and strong programming skills in MEL required.
# Experience working in a UNIX environment preferred.
# Programming experience in a high level language (e.g. C, Python).
# Production experience with either Syflex or nCloth; experience of any other simulation system (eg. particle, cloth, fluid) is a plus.
# Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
# Excellent detail-oriented, problem solving skills. Candidate must be able to quickly identify issues and resolve them.
# Ability to work in a dynamic and collaborative team environment.
# Ability to quickly learn and apply new concepts, principles and solutions.
# Demonstrates dependability and commitment to projects/tasks.
