Pipeline Software Engineer

MPC is one of the world's leading post production facilities creating high-end digital visual effects for the television and feature film industries. Managing large numbers of digital assets and developing cutting edge productivity tools is vital to MPC’s continued success. This is the responsibility of our Pipeline R&D team where MPC seeks to appoint a Pipeline Software Developer to help support and develop such tools. The appointee's core responsibilities would include:

• Develop in-house software as part of a team.
• Technical and user documentation.
• Build relationships with key artists and production staff.
• Identify changing requirements, recommend and develop solutions.
• Small scale project management
• User support

Applicants will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

• Proven team player with good organisation and communication skills.
• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• UNIX/Linux advanced experience.
• Knowledge of Python and C/C++ required.
• Experience of technologies relating to GUI design and content or asset management an advantage, as is knowledge of MySQL.
• Experience of technologies including Apache, NFS, CVS, HTML, CSS, AJAX an advantage.
• Proven team player with good organisation and communication skills.
