JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

SENIOR ENVIRONMENT ARTIST
We are looking for a talented and self motivated senior environment artist to take an integral role in creating assets for our future projects. The applicant must be skilled in all aspects of game art creation.

Idol Minds is an independent game developer for the PS3 and other consoles. We are ideally located in Colorado between Denver and Boulder next to the Rocky Mountains. RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Contribute a significant amount of art content to the project that sets the tone for the rest of the art staff
o Work closely with the Art Lead to develop environments that satisfy design requirements while maintaining the highest visual standards
o Create high quality maps and apply them to complex 3D models
o Generate artwork that fits within a style outlined by art leads
o Mentor junior staff by providing training, guidance, and feedback
o Communicate resolutions to technical and artistic problems related to the pipeline

REQUIREMENTS:

QUALIFICATIONS:
o 3+ years in the game industry with at least one shipped title under your belt
o A portfolio that demonstrates a history of high quality 3D art and artistic ability over a variety of styles and topics
o BFA or other college degree with a background in art
o Excellent written and verbal communication skills
o In depth knowledge of Maya and its tools
o An understanding of shader properties and how to use them
o Strong organizational skills
o Industrious work ethic and the ability to work without constant direction
o The ability to solve problems and complete work under reasonable deadlines
o Work well in a team setting which includes giving and receiving criticism
