NYU TISCH SCHOOL OF THE ARTS ASIA

The Graduate Animation and Digital Arts Program at Tisch Asia’s new campus in Singapore is searching to fill a full-time faculty position on the Arts Professor track (non-tenure, open rank, 1 – 5 year contracts) or on a one-year visiting basis (for a senior faculty applicant or for a professional in the industry) to commence in the 2010/2011 academic year.

Candidates will demonstrate an ensemble of professional works in more than one area including 2D/3D animation, MAYA, gaming, the history of animation, character design, MEL scripting, ActionScript, programming for animators, scientific visualization, Motion Capture, digital cinematography, VIR tools, Flash, AfterEffects, digital sound, and interactive design. Candidates will be creative thinkers on topics related to storytelling, film/animation production, history, media theory, sound/music, performance, design, theater, dance, research, education.
REQUIREMENTS:
Teaching experience at the university level is preferred or the demonstrable capacity to translate ones professional experience into dynamic teaching is also acceptable. Faculty member will teach 5 courses per year, advise graduate students, and participate in departmental and/or school-wide committees. On-going professional work while teaching is encouraged and expected.
