Microsoft Game Studios is looking for a dynamic and experienced Senior Software Development Engineer who has passion to create the world’s greatest games. The position focuses on supporting external partners and solving technical issues. Senior Software Development Engineers push innovation and partner with world class developers to launch new franchises worthy of 1st Party development.
Duties and responsibilities:
Collaborate with external partners to solve technical issues, increase quality, and/or ensure a date
Work in small internal strike teams to prototype game features and game types
Develop processes and technology to increase productivity of internal and external developers
Evaluate, recommend, and exploit existing technology
Evaluate milestones and provide technical analysis in support of key project checkpoints
Develop in-game technologies that exploit key platform initiatives
REQUIREMENTS:
Required skills and experience:
5+ years console game development experience
Strong coding (C/C++) and debugging skills
Significant experience in at least one area (network, graphics, physics, etc.)
Ability to solve technical problems
Experience with multithreaded software development
Experience with middleware engines and/or tools (Unreal, Havok , Wwise, etc.)
Strong communication skills
Ability to travel both domestically and internationally
Desired skills and experience:
Network programming and/or Webservice APIs, NT/IIS and Web technologies
Experience with C#, ASP.Net, WCF, SQL
Experience with common game scripting languages (UnrealScript, Lua, Python, etc.)
Experience working in a publishing capacity
Experience in a technical leadership role
