About University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee

Welcome to the Peck School of the Arts (PSOA). We are the only school of the arts in the University of Wisconsin system. In PSOA, everyone -- students, faculty and staff -- is in the creativity business. This semester over 1,850 visual and performing arts majors are enrolled in some of the most exciting and innovative programs available on any university campus in America. The disciplines of Dance, Film, Music, Theatre, and Visual Art present exciting curricula in their respective departments; Inter-Arts degree programs are also available. Within departments and through collaboration, we provide students with a remarkable menu of intellectually and artistically challenging pre-professional educational opportunities.

Transforming experiences become possible when we challenge ourselves to cross boundaries, whether defined by academic discipline, new technology or cultural tradition. Collaborative discovery, our action oriented model for creativity, directs us to interact with others both on and off campus. The educational performance programs of PSOA enrich the cultural life of our campus, our city and our state.

Hundreds of professional performances, screenings, and exhibitions define the creative and artistic lives of those working and studying in the school and enhance the quality of life in our metropolitan community. Beyond the academy our graduates fill the ranks of both the educational community and the professional arts community in Milwaukee and far beyond the campus. This spirit of connectedness creates a larger community that embraces students, faculty, staff, audiences, donors and alumni in a vibrant network that supports an academic organism that stimulates, supports, and sustains an exciting, challenging, and creative intellectual and artistic environment.
