Diablo Valley College isseeking a dynamic and dedicated full-time faculty member to join our ArtDigital Media Department. We are looking for a passionate educator withexpertise in 3D animation and modeling. We also seek expertise in one or moreof the following areas: digital illustration, real-time technologies, gamedesign, or world building. The ideal applicant will be able to leverage theirrobust relationship to the 3D animation and digital media industry to benefitstudents in their career journeys. The typical teaching load for this positionis 3-4 lecture/lab courses per semester.

Duties and Responsibilities:
In addition to contractualduties, all full-time faculty are expected to participate actively in theirdisciplines, department activities, and the general intellectual life andgovernance of the college. Part of the teaching assignment may be in the eveningand/or online. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. advancing equitable studentlearning through dedicated, exemplary instruction in accordance withestablished course outlines;
2. participating in theassessment of student learning outcomes for courses and programs; developingand implementing student learning outcomes assessment processes for courses andprograms;
3. collaborating in thedevelopment and revision of curriculum and in program review;
4. engaging in departmentprogram improvement initiatives;
5. participating in department,division, and college committees;
6. participating inprofessional development activities, both departmental and college-wide;
7. maintaining currentknowledge in the subject matter area and effective teaching/ learningstrategies;
8. maintaining appropriatestandards of professional conduct and ethics;
9. informing students of courserequirements, evaluation procedures and attendance requirements;
10. preparing and grading classassignments and examinations and informing students of their academic progress;
11. maintaining attendance,scholastic, and personnel records and submitting them according to publisheddeadlines;
12. posting and holdingsufficient and regular office hours in accordance with prevailing policy;
13. participating in College’sshared governance processes.
MinimumQualification-Education/Experience:
Understanding of andsensitivity to the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, sexualorientation and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, staff andfaculty.

A bachelor’s degree (or higher)with two years of full-time professional experience ?

Desirable Qualifications:
Highly qualified candidateswill possess knowledge, skills, and experience that address the desirablequalifications below. Responses to the supplemental questions below allow theapplicant to describe how they meet these qualifications.
• At least one year of teachingexperience, particularly working with a diverse student population in a highereducation setting, including online or hybrid classes.
• Professional experienceworking with industry-standard 3D animation and modeling software applications,programming or scripting languages, as well as related hardware.
• Demonstrated ability toestablish meaningful connections within the 3D animation and digital mediaindustry and to stay current with research and industry developments.
• At least one or moreadditional area(s) of expertise in 2D Animation, digital illustration,real-time technologies, game design, or world building.
• A certificate or degree,formal training, or participation in professional development programs in 3Danimation, 2D animation, real-time technologies, AI, digital illustration, gamedesign, and/or world building.
