About Lucasfilm | ADG

The Lucasfilm Advanced Development Group (ADG) develops tools and techniques for high-fidelity computer graphics and simulation. Our goal is to expand and enhance creative storytelling in the Star Wars universe through real-time rendering of film-quality imagery. Our work can also be seen powering many of the ILMxLAB immersive experiences.

Letterman Digital Arts Center, San Francisco
The Letterman Digital Arts Center (LDAC) is the flagship office for the Lucasfilm Companies, housing Lucasfilm, Lucasfilm Animation, ILMxLab and one of the four ILM Studios. It's where a cutting-edge campus meets an historic military base. It's where a national park meets the big city. It's where a great work environment meets even greater career opportunities.

LDAC, which opened in 2005, sits on the site of the old Letterman Hospital in the historic Presidio of San Francisco, a former army post turned national park.

Inside, LDAC is filled with elegant, professional spaces for both work and play. The hallways are a living museum of models, matte paintings and memorabilia from the many movies Lucasfilm and ILM have worked on over the past four decades. The offices are equipped with state-of-the-art technology, highlighted by an in-house sound studio, a motion-capture studio and one of the largest render farms in existence.

LDAC isn't just a bunch of cubicles, though. Work here and you'll enjoy fresh, organic, made-to-order meals in our gorgeous dining commons — one of the few places in the city with views of the Golden Gate Bridge, the Palace of Fine Arts and the Transamerica Pyramid. Keep your mind (and body) sharp at the 14,000-square foot fitness center, with its full selection of exercise equipment. Pick up Star Wars memorabilia, themed apparel and much more at the Lucasfilm Company Store. Shoot pool, be a pinball wizard, or just take a break in our Rumpus Room. Enjoy guest lectures and screenings of the latest movies in our 300-seat theatre, equipped with cutting-edge film projection and sound system. For parents, there's a child-care center on-site, so you can always stay close to your kids.
