Augusta, GA, is ranked by some websites among the top ten overall cities in the USA for a balanced quality of life. It is growing and thriving, with its greater-metropolitan area approaching half a million, yet it is not dense, with beautiful nature in arm’s reach. Located on the south bank of the Savannah River, midway between the Great Smokey Mountains and coastal beaches; Augusta is within a few hours of the cultural centers of Atlanta, Asheville, Savannah, Athens, Columbia, Greenville, and Charleston.
