We are seeking candidates for the position of a Project Manager in our Silver Spring, MD and Los Angeles, CA office.
Position Summary:
The Project Manager position is part of a new division that is focused on producing a diverse array of non-fiction digital apps with heavy focus on core Discovery subject matters – History, Science, Lifestyle, Health.
Responsibilities:
1. Project managing the development, production and marketing of app based products. Oversee management of the development of multiple projects concurrently.
2. Responsible for managing the timely delivery of app products, ensuring that priorities, schedules, and budget expectations are met.
3. Manage overall project calendar for division keeping marketing, operations, development, production and creative teams on task.
4. Manage all department workflows, ensuring processes are documented. Research, recommend and implement new project and studio processes where efficiencies are needed.
5. Oversee sprint planning (develop charter, goals/objectives, tasks, assignments, schedule, refined estimates.) Lead planning for assigned workstream(s) by defining sprint goals/objectives, tasks, assignments, schedule, and refined estimates. Develop schedule and resource loaded plan for each sprint.
6. Manage sprints (e.g., backlog items, tasks, work completed, work remaining, and resource assignment). Plan and lead daily scrums. Proactively identify and follow-up on action items/risks/issues and escalate as required to departmental stakeholders.
7. Develop and maintain integrated program level plan for all projects and their respective releases. Identify and communicate tasks required to complete integration/coordination with other groups for a given sprint.
8. Develop and distribute weekly status reports. Provide periodic updates/escalations, as required, to ensure successful (on-time, on-budget, high quality) project delivery.
