Production Coordinator

Bardel currently is looking for a Production Coordinator to join our production team. In this role, you are responsible for managing and tracking artwork, artists and their output as it pertains to the schedule for the completion of the production.

What you will be doing:

  • Track weekly quotas.  Maintain and submit quotas to the Line Producer/Production Manager
  • Ensure artwork is reviewed by the department supervisor and director for approvals or revisions
  • Track work currently assigned, date started, expected due, revisions and dates and dates approved
  • Organize, file and distribute materials as necessary after approvals
  • Prepare materials for shipment and make sure all shipments are checked prior to shipping
  • With Line Producer/Production Manager, create a shipping check list
  • Be straightforward about deadlines and overall production schedule with artists
  • Work with the artists to find a more suitable schedule if they feel the allotted time is not sufficient
  • Follow up with artists to maintain schedule.  May require several follow ups depending on artists.
  • Ensure artists have all material they need to complete their assignment
  • Archive artwork when appropriate.  Depending on the nature of the material, copy onto disks with backup disk, preserve, put in storage.  Create and inventory list of archived items.
  • Organize and maintain the server for space, filing and use including regular clearing on the FTP
  • Assess that adequate equipment is available for artists and inform Line Producer/Production Manager if additional equipment is required
  • Ensure that all artists are fully briefed on project task assignments including daily job sheets
  • Troubleshoot possible problems or issues
  • Tracking office and food supplies for team
  • Social planning for screening events and meetings

What you will bring with you:

  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in similar capacity, preferably in animation, film, and/or gaming industry
  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in related field
  • Proficiency in MS Office (such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Google Applications (such as Gmail and Google Drive) and Social media tools
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail with the ability to follow through
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities
  • A solid work ethic and strong sense of discretion
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
  • Excellent communication in English (both verbally and written) and conflict resolution skills

Pluses:

  • Working knowledge of pipeline management software tools, such as Shotgun and Perforce
