The Equipment Technician
is responsible for operation, service, and maintenance of the equipment
room. Hours will generally be 6:00PM-2:00am
or 11:00am-7:00pm on weekdays, and 9am-5pm or 5pm-1am on weekends. MUST BE ABLE
TO WORK WEEKENDS. Flexibility is a must!
Duties and
Responsibilities:
* Check in/out Equipment for labs, classes and
sessions, checking each item thoroughly on its way in and out.
* Use inventory software system to keep track of items
checked out to students and staff.
* Follow up on any issues relating to equipment with
user immediately. This includes lab instructors, staff, and students.
* Communicate the day’s activities effectively at the
shift exchange and provide a detailed report for the oncoming technician.
* Maintain security for equipment to prevent loss or
damage.
* Provide excellent customer service and guidance to
the students and staff.
* Ask questions and make recommendations to ensure
proper use, safety, and longevity of the equipment.
* Organize and clean up room regularly.
* Maintain weekly work list provided by the equipment
room manager and assistant managers.
Requirements:
* Technical degree, bachelors degree or equivalent
professional experience directly related to position requirements.
* Prior professional experience in recording facility,
video or audio production or post-production facility, creative technical school
or other similar environment preferred.
