The Senior Tools & Automation Developer is responsible for building tools and technologies in support of BioWare’s software development, quality assurance and software test processes.

 

Fully embedded in one of the BioWare development teams, the Software Developer in Test will work closely with the developers to integrate QE technologies, create test frameworks, enable automated testing, collect metrics and develop reports. The SDET will also provide technologies and services to the Quality Assurance group and support any local infrastructure for automated testing and other QE systems.

BioWare Montreal is actively developing the latest title in the critically-acclaimed Mass Effect universe. BioWare is also known for developing many of the favorite games of fans the world over, including the recently released and celebrated, Dragon Age: Inquisition.

 

SCOPE & IMPACT:

 

  • Integrate systems and tools into existing code base and processes.
  • Maintain tools, integration, and technologies to support highly reliable environment.
  • Deliver and support cutting-edge test automation aligned with the company’s strategic goals
  • Understand and follow standard software engineering processes and best practices for requirements, design, implementation and testing.
  • Continuous, front-line communication with all customers on goals and strategy
  • Computer Science Degree, Computer Engineering Degree, or equivalent.
  • Excellent understanding of software quality assurance concepts, debugging processes and procedures.
  • Professional Software development experience in C++ and C#
  • Experience in LAMP, Javascript, Angular, MSSQL, MongoDB, JQuery, Ajax a plus.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodology
  • Preferred knowledge in gaming consoles.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong ability to self-manage and prioritize work effectively within deadlines.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to negotiate with end-users on features, priorities, deliverables, and timeline
  • Ability to work independently with minimal outside supervision.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and be flexible – able to adapt plans and react to change.
  • Successfully interface with customers with a diverse set of backgrounds and needs – able to speak their language, appreciate their challenges, and maintain their respect.
