Role Overview

The design of a character is vital to the overall creation of a game. Regardless of the style, it's important for all characters in BioWare games to be emotionally engaging. They must be characters that immerse gamers into the worlds and stories that we create.

The Lead Character Artist is in guiding, creating, and directing art in a multitude of areas, the ability to multi task effectively is essential. The primary responsibility: to inspire and enable their team to create artwork as efficiently as possible to an exceptional standard and vision as defined by the Art Director.


What skills does BioWare look for?

A Character Modeller must have strong organic and hard surface modeling skills, strong traditional art skills (light, form, shadow, color), knowledge of the human anatomy and proportion, strong texturing skills (including photographic manipulation, texturing, and color correction. In addition, they must have excellent organizational skills (goal setting, working towards milestones, etc.), as well as strong Maya, ZBrush knowledge and PhotoShop skills.
