Department TD - Animated Feature
Description
As a Department TD you will be working closely with the Department
Supervisor to research and develop department specific tools, maintain existing
tools and plan for the future.
Key responsibilities include:
- Work collaboratively with the Vancouver Department
Supervisors, Sydney Department TDs and R&D teams to ensure a common and
standardised approach to the workflow, tool development and support
- Liaise with the
R&D team to ensure compliance with current internal best practices
- Ensuring the
optimization of the workflow of the department
- Support the artists in the department with the tools and trouble
shoot problem scripts and other technical difficulties
- Implementing the already established pipeline and tools
from Sydney
- Take responsibility for the optimisation of the
workflow of the department
- Ensuring the department is technically well supported
- Provide training to the artists for new tools
- Maintain existing tools
- Long term planning for future projects
To be successful in
this role you will have:
- Five years
TD experience in large scale animated features, animated TV series and /or VFX
feature films
- Experience
with a large facility pipeline
- Experience
using and troubleshooting in as many of the following as is relevant, Maya,
XSI, Mari, Houdini, Nuke and other popular software packages
- Expert
knowledge in Python and knowledge of VCS, SVN, GIT, Mercurial or others: and
PyQt or other GUI toolkit
- Proven TD
experience in large scale animated features, animated TV series and/or VFX
feature films
- Excellent
attention to detail and ability to follow through on solutions
- Ability to
multi-task, prioritize and problem solve
- Ability to
work within a strong team environment
- Strong
communication and interpersonal skills
- Degree in
Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Physics or equivalent
