Contract Animator
Description
Battlecry Studios, the newest ZeniMax studio in Austin, is seeking a talented Contract Animator to join our team in making AAA games. To learn more about BATTLECRY (planned to be in Beta in 2015), please visit the game’s official website at http://www.battlecrythegame.com.
NOTE: Work samples are required with your application. Required demo reel should include examples of previous animation work. A shot breakdown should also be included with an explanation of responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Create high-quality animations by utilizing both hand key animation and motion capture data
- Collaborate with other disciplines to create a cohesive vision and experience
- Troubleshoot and solve animation issues with all departments
- Implement animation assets into game engine and iterate as needed
- Organize and accurately estimate animation tasks
Requirements
- Strong understanding of the principles of animation and character anatomy
- Extensive knowledge in Maya
- Ability to maintain a consistent style throughout production
- Strong understanding of game animation and implementation; more emphasis on combat than cinematic performance
- Receptive to constructive feedback and willingness to work through an iterative process
- Prioritize tasks with management and remain accountable to deadlines
- Adapt to technical dependencies and engine limitations
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
Pluses
- Previous AAA game development and multiple shipped titles
- Capable of rigging high quality character assets
- Passion for video games
