Software Engineer - PSO

Description

The Platform Service Operations (PSO) Software Engineering team at DreamWorks is a cross-functional engineering team that are responsible for delivery critical services such as software and system functional and performance testing, as well as custom software development mainly focused on tools, sophisticated application health trending, visualization and monitoring.

Primary Responsibilities

• Develop and implement full-stack Python applications.
• Comfortable working on Perl applications.
• Understanding of JSON and RESTful services.
• Coordinate with Business Owners, Project Managers and other team members to ensure problem solutions and user satisfaction. Provide a customer focus on all communications

Required

• Experienced and comfortable developing in Python
• Experienced with working with Open Source libraries and frameworks.
• Software integration (e.g. writing plugins to industry applications)
• Software development using Linux (or UNIX derivative)
• Database - MongoDB
• Strong knowledge of web standards, HTTP protocols and RESTful API design
• Proven track record in developing scalable website/API backends
• Self-motivated and detailed approach to problem solving
• Proactive attitude to customer service
• Ability to manage and track a variety of tasks
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• BS, MS or PhD in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience

Preferred

• Perl, Java or C++
• Competent in the following technologies Flask, Tornado Web, gevent
• JavaScript - Backbone.js. BONUS: Reactjs, Flux
• NoSQL databases (Cassandra)
• Shell scripting (tcsh)
• Relational database (e.g. Oracle, SQLite)
• Linux system administration
• PyQt
