Software Engineer Manager, 3ds max

Autodesk is looking for a talented Software Development Manager to join an exciting team of professionals who build some of the most advanced 3D animation solutions for designers, visualization specialists, game and film artists.

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and demonstrated  experience in scalable, extensible and reliable software development. This manager will be capable of providing technical leadership on multiple development projects, support iterative software development and ensure the productivity of their teams.  In addition, she or he will mentor and grow the capabilities of a highly productive team. The manager will be responsible for developing & coaching team members and will actively be involved with recruiting & selecting future team members, when deemed necessary.


• Recruit, train, manage, motivate and grow a highly productive team.
• Translate high-level organizational strategy into individual and team goals.
• Build solid relationships and work effectively with cross functional groups around the world and across time zones.
• Enable the delivery of high quality software that delights our customers.
• Apply independence and creativity to problem solving across various development teams and projects.


• BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years of relevant software engineering experience in a Microsoft Windows environment.  Experience in delivering Web Services is an asset.
• 7+ years as a software development manager.
• Experience collaborating effectively with product designers, product managers, QA engineers, project managers and other software professionals.
• Experience building, managing, and motivating productive and successful multi-cultural teams in software development and quality assurance.
• Experience with Agile or other iterative software development processes.
• Experience developing Design, Visualization, Gaming and/or VFX applications.
• Experience working in a fast-moving, dynamic corporate environment.

Other desirable skills
• A level of personal technical expertise with some or all of the following: Windows, computer graphics, gaming technologies and web services.
• Excellent negotiation and consensus building skills.
• Excellent communications, written and verbal.
• Willing and able to make decisions with limited information.
• Willing to travel to interface with remote teams.
• Flexible under changing conditions.
• Passionate about your team, your work, and your customers.
