Summary
Monolith’s Marketing Game Manager (MGM) is responsible for working closely with Monolith’s
product vision holders to create outstanding Marketing, PR and Community programs. To this end, the MGM
also collaborates with WBIE’s Brand Marketing, Product Marketing, Trade Marketing
and PR staff to develop and facilitate marketing assets and tactics throughout
the product lifecycle. Ultimately, the MGM is a critical driver to help further the
establishment and success of Monolith brands and franchises.
Job Responsibilities
-Works closely with Monolith’s vision holders on
the creation of marketing assets that will differentiate Monolith product,
demonstrate product strengths, and create consumer excitement. Works with
development staff to produce high-quality marketing assets for editorial,
packaging, advertising, game manuals and other uses.
-Works closely with other functional areas across
WBIE (e.g. Brand Managers, PR, Product Marketing, Trade Marketing, Sales, etc.)
to develop and facilitate successful, consumer, trade, and media marketing assets
and tactics throughout the development cycle.
-Works closely with Monolith’s vision holders in
shaping Marketing, PR, Community and live service programs. Uses marketing concepts and intelligence to
inform development decisions and maximize product success.
-Identifies, develops and executes strategies for
establishing and growing online communities around Monolith and Monolith’s products. Cultivates Studio/Product Brand image and
reputation by managing an online presence that maintains consumer engagement.
-Continually evaluates market intelligence,
consumer patterns, and the competitive landscape of Marketing, PR and Community
strategies and insights. Conducts,
coordinates and/or commissions research and testing to identify opportunities. Exploits this information to recommend
adjustments to Marketing, PR and Community programs.
-Trains Producers and other development staff on
best practices for demonstrating product to external parties. Where appropriate, serves as product
spokesperson and demonstrates product to significant audiences.
-Community Management oversight and vision. This includes direct management of the
Community Manager along with the creation and oversight of Monolith’s Twitch
channel. Also works on Social programs and
integrated communications with WBIE PR.
JOB QUALIFICATION
STANDARDS
Work Experience
· 5+
years marketing experience within a product development organization required.
· At
least 3 years’ experience within the videogames industry preferred.
· Prior
experience working for (or closely with) a game developer preferred.
· Prefer
experience managing a digital product or service, including segmentation, data
analytics, funnel management, performance-based marketing, mobile marketing,
etc.
Education, Professional Training, Technical Training or Certification
· Bachelor’s
degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or related field required.
· Master’s
degree preferred.
Knowledge/Skills
· Is able to effectively present and demonstrate
products to internal and external audiences, including Sales and Journalists.
· Must
have thorough understanding of the game development process and cycles.
· Requires
a strong competitive knowledge of the games market (e.g. past and current game
feature sets, title performance, marketing tactics, etc.).
· Excellent
communication skills required, both written and verbal. Must be able to manage communications
effectively across a worldwide organization.
· Must
have strong organizational skills and be able to manage multiple products
simultaneously.
· Must
be collaborative and an effective negotiator.
· Must
be a resourceful and creative problem solver.
· Requires
a self -starter with high level of initiative.
· Strong
sense of ownership required.
