Junior Sound Designer (Temp)
Description
Summary of Position:
The Junior Sound Designer works closely with the Audio Director and the Senior Sound Designer to
design, develop and implement audio elements. The Junior Sound Designer typically works
on one product at a time, but may be required to support additional smaller
projects from time to time. There is NO
music composition associated with this job.
Job Responsibilities:
- Record, edit, and Process
Character voices and dialog
- Create compelling, original
sound effects using multi-track software and audio processing plug-ins
- Record sound sources in the
field as needed
- Authoring sounds using
Wwise
- Implementation
of sound using UE3-based tools (ambience, sound effects, cinematics)
Job Qualification Standards:
Work Experience
- Internship
or previous position in a related field a plus
Education, Professional Training, Technical Training or
Certification
- Some
amount of formal audio education such as BA from accredited university or
equivalent level of experience required.
Applicants must have either graduated from or been enrolled in such a
program.
Knowledge/Skills
- Experience in designing creative, nuanced sound effects
- Experience with modern audio-post software such as
Nuendo, Reaper, Sound Forge, Vegas, Pro Tools, VST, TDM, and RTAS
- Experience cutting, processing and tracking dialog files
- Some experience with audio authoring (Wwise, fmod) and
game implementation techniques (emitters, animation notifies, scripting etc.)
- Some experience working in a team environment, providing
and receiving feedback
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
