Senior Lighting Artist
Responsibilities:
• Complete difficult and complex lighting shots within given schedule
and to the quality standard set by production.
• Understand the role and importance Lighting plays in the
story-telling process.
• Understand the methods which can be employed by Lighting to
reinforce and enhance the story-telling process.
• Work closely
with the Lead Lighting Artist to adapt the sequence light rigs to other key
shots of the sequence maintaining both technical and visual quality and
consistency.
• Provide optimized
lighting setups to Lighting Artists working on same-as or similar shots and the
help they need to effectively use the setups.
• Provide technical
help to and mentor the rest of the Lighting Artists as needed.
Requirements:
• Have 4+ years of experience as a Lighting Artist on high-quality
feature animation films.
• Have experience
with the Maya/Arnold lighting pipeline.
• Able to
multitask, prioritize tasks, and problem solve.
• Have a "good
eye” and understand principles of lighting and composition.
• Must be able to communicate ideas and opinions thoughtfully and
constructively.
• Take direction in a constructive, positive manner.
• Be patient, motivated,
proactive, curious, and passionate about the film-making process.
• Possess a strong
knowledge of compositing principles (Nuke experience a plus).
• Possess an
attention to detail uncommon to the average human being.
• A degree from an
accredited Computer Graphics and/or Art College is always a plus.
