Quality Assurance Analyst (Temp)
Description
Monolith Productions is seeking a Quality
Assurance Analyst to join our team in Kirkland, WA. This individual contributor
must be able to establish priorities among multiple, competing demands and to
meet deadlines. Ideal candidates possess the ability to work with
flexibility, efficiency, and diplomacy in a fast-paced environment. Must be
able to use test documentation, execute test cases, track defects, and report
results. Should have exceptional problem solving skills and be able to
articulate issues written and verbally. Must possess a flexible and
personable approach in a team environment and must be comfortable interacting
with other internal and external team members on short and long-term term
projects. Candidates should have experience using Microsoft and Sony
development tools (software/hardware). Applicants should have a minimum
of 2 years experience as a Quality Assurance Analyst.
Job Responsibilities
- Team support -
Research challenges being encountered by team members with tools and runtime to
reduce downtime created by bugs or configuration problems. Track to
resolution.
- Bug
reporting/tracking/fixing - Find and report bugs in code, assets and
tools. Research and properly update and assign bugs written by other
members of the development team. Identify development resources needed to
fix bugs. Track bugs to closure. Check in fixes when appropriate.
- Build deliveries -
Assemble and deliver milestones, demos, and final builds. Assemble and
smoke test builds to be sent to third parties, such as publisher QA, 3rd party
test groups, and usability.
- Utilization of test
automation and QA tools
- Perform testing of
runtime and tools on all platforms using ad-hoc and guided methods for
verification of requirements as set forth by the development team, the
publisher, and the 1st party console manufacturers.
- Reproduce and isolate
bugs found by publisher QA and other members of the development team.
- Aid in the maintenance
of internal and/or external bug databases as needed.
- Stable Build Testing -
Smoke test code and critical assets prior to release to the rest of the
development team. Make determinations based on discovered issues
regarding whether or not a given set of code and assets should be released to
the rest of the development team.
- Crash Report Tracking
- Track and report crashes sent by the development and publisher QA teams.
Work Experience
- 2+ years in a software
Quality Assurance position
- 1 year in games
desired
- Experience with one or
more game consoles (Nintendo, Microsoft, Sony) or PC desired
- Experience having
shipped a game title on any platform in a development organization desired
Education, Professional Training, Technical
Training or Certification
- High school diploma or
equivalent, BS or BA a plus
Knowledge/Skills
- Pays close attention
to detail.
- Has the ability to
communicate clearly, both written and orally.
- The ability to
accurately troubleshoot and identify software and hardware problems and
describe the issue to others in a clear and concise manner.
- Knowledge of current
PC hardware and setup.
- The ability to
complete multiple concurrent tasks in a fast paced environment with minimal
supervision under tight deadlines.
- Strong computer skills
including familiarity with all current Microsoft operating systems, Microsoft
Word (or equivalent), Microsoft Excel (or equivalent), and Microsoft Outlook
(or equivalent)
- Knowledge of one or
more bug tracking databases, including but not limited to: JIRA, Test Track
Pro, or equivalents.
- Strong organizational
skills and the ability to manage time under tight deadlines.
- Strong oral and
written communication skills, and the ability to communicate complex and/or
detailed information clearly
- Knowledge of video
games across multiple platforms and genreās
- Entry level knowledge
of basic testing concepts including: Test Case usage, Bug writing, Regression
testing, and Ad hoc testing,
- Any experience with
code or scripting is a plus
