CG MODELER

Description

As a HouseSpecial Modeler, you’ll be responsible for modeling on a wide variety projects. Creating character, environment and prop models to meet the aesthetic, creative and technical quality standards set by Directors, team member, and client specifications. Delivering models from mockup to finished stages, including blendshapes, to riggers for setup.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain 3D models that reflect a Director’s vision.

  • Collaborate with CG team to ensure models maintain structural integrity.

  • Assist development of new tools and techniques to improve the modeling process.

  • Communicate effectively with production management, creative leads and technical support teams.

  • Meet deadlines as established by production management.

  • Actively safeguards HouseSpecial’s Proprietary and Confidential Information.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Demonstrates ability using Maya for the creation of both organic and hard surface models.
  • A strong sense of anatomy.

  • Life drawing and sculpting experience a plus.

  • Experience in additional CG disciplines including Surfacing and Rigging highly desirable.

  • Experience working interactively with Riggers and Animators on characters.

  • Experience with Maya, Mudbox, and ZBrush preferred.

  • Experience in UV Mapping

  • Experience with Nuke, Arnold, Houdini and Photoshop a plus.

  •  Experience with procedural modeling for both organic and hard surface objects.

  • Ability to prioritize hit deadlines and maintain consistent productivity in a fast paced environment. 

  • Good problem solving skills.

  • Able to work both collaboratively and independently under tight deadlines.

  • Open to taking direction and able to embrace change.

  • Strong attention to detail, communication skills, a great attitude and common sense.

  • Minimum 4 years experience in a production environment as a modeler.

  • Knowledge of polygonal, NURBs and subdivision surface types.
