FuseFX New York is currently searching for a Systems Administrator / Systems Engineer. This is a mid-level job with the primary focus of infrastructure and artist support. Candidates with visual effects / animation / post production experience preferred. 

FuseFX is a visual effects studio focused on producing photo-real digital effects for episodic television, feature films, and commercials.  

Responsibilities and Duties

• Artist and User support
• Application installation
• File location or restoration
• Resolving software or hardware issues
• Account creation
• Infrastructure monitoring and upgrade
• Network management
• Resolving issues, pro-actively working to decrease downtime
• Upgrades and improvements
• Interconnection with other offices as well as clients and vendors
• Security
• Helping to define new policies and ensuring all policies are enforced

Requirements

• Physical ability to lift at least 50lbs to standing height and assist in movement of heavier items
• Flexible hours, available for late morning-evening shift
• Technical experience
• Experience configuring switches, Brocade a big plus
• Experience with firewalls, Palo Alto a big plus
• Substantial experience with Active Directory including group policy, replication, etc.
• Experience with VMWare, ESXi clustering preferred
• Support of a multi OS environment: Windows and OSX
• Support of applications such as Office, Filemaker, Acrobat and Photoshop

o    Support of creative applications such as 3dsMax, Maya, Nuke desired

o    Experience with cloud-based service administration desired: Office365, Adobe CC

Qualifications

·         Formal education in Computer Science or equivalent a plus

·         Experience with render management and especially Thinkbox’s Deadline a plus

·         Batch/scripting knowledge a plus

·         Certifications such as CCNA, BCNA, MCSA, MCSE or equivalent experience desired

·         Experience in a post-production/vfx environment desired

·         Positive can-do attitude combined with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines

·         Excellent communication and organizational skill with strong attention to detail
