DevOps Engineer

Purpose of the job:

The Support Engineer will be part of our Core Technology Team.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain AMIs to support our VR/360 video platform
  • Build, deploy, and maintain tooling for managing and monitoring servers
  • Develop and maintain system backup tools and procedures
  • Be on call to handle server outages
  • Build and maintain automation to handle deployments and scaling

Education, Experience, and Skills Required:

  • Strong background working with and maintaining Linux systems
  • Comfort with bash scripting including use of regexes
  • Experience with IPv4 networking and routing
  • Experience working with cloud hosted services such as AWS

Education, Experience, and Skills Recommended

  • Experience with Javascript and node.js
  • Experience with noSQL databases such as MongoDB, crate.io, and rethinkDB
  • Knowledge of automation/configuration management such as Rundeck, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet
  • Experience with Elasticsearch, Kibana, and Grafana                               

Working Conditions and Environment/Physical Demands: 

  • This position will involve working remotely.
  • Hours for this position are based on normal working hours but will require extra hours pending production needs
  • Walking/bending/sitting
