Human Resources Generalist

Purpose of the
job:
The Human
Resources Generalist is an integral part of the HR team. Under general supervision and acting on
one’s own initiative, the HR Generalist performs a wide range of duties
within a framework set by the HR department to include generalist functions,
confidential administrative, operational, and project support. This position will be based in Los
Angeles or Orange County, CA.

Essential
Functions/Responsibilities:
- Assist
with and help administer various employee programs, including New Hire
Orienation, Benefits Orientations, and Timecard Training.
- Process
various forms related to documenting human resources activities such as
new-hires, change-of-status, performance evaluations, benefits, and
terminations.
- Prepare
for and conduct exit interviews.
- Compile
and enter new hire information into various company databases.
- Prepare
all internal and external job postings for Immigration, Recruiting, and
general Advertising needs.
- Create
& maintain standard HR reports as needed.
- Assists
with tracking efforts such as employment agreement dates, immigration related
visa/permit expiry dates and flags HR Director with upcoming due dates.
- Support
the onboarding process for all hires.
- Support a variety of cross studio functions
to assist with the smooth transition of internal transfers.
- Act
as first line of escalation for all HR questions from employees and outside
contacts.
- Provides advice and support for non-routine
ER & performance issues where required and under the direction of the
Director of HR.
- Key
contact for all benefits administration inquiries.
- Work
with HR/Recruiting to facilitate any recruiting special events, which would
include the cross-studio participation in any industry conferences, as well
as local industry functions.
- Work
with brokerage team and Finance department to reconcile all Benefit and HR vendor
invoices.
- Prepare
all purchase/check requisitions as needed.
- Post
contributions into DFSA accounts on a bi-weekly basis.
- Coordinate and help administer all Workers’ compensation claims.
- Respond to Unemployment claims/issues via ADP Unemployment
Claims System.
- Complete
all incoming employment verifications.
- Complete
all requests for miscellaneous employment correspondence such as travel
letters, employment verification letters, etc.
- Assist
with getting all new incoming benefit deduction changes to payroll department
for timely processing.
- Process
all change of personnel information such as address changes, beneficiary
changes, emergency contact updates, etc.
- Address
any feedback files that come in via the PSW system for 401k plan.
- Prepare
monthly service award reports and assist with preparation of award
distribution when applicable.
- Liaise
with Immigration Attorneys on all immigration/visa matters.
- Draft
employment related memos as needed.
- Prepare
and distribute bi-weekly sick/vacation balance reports to management.
- Create and maintain all Employee Personnel, Medical, 401k and
Immigration files and ensure that they are always up to date, confidential
and in compliance with legal requirements.
- Work with HR Director on annual projects such as 401k NDA
testing, Wellness Program Initiatives,
etc.
- Work with the Director of HR to facilitate Team Building events
- Assist
with other special projects as assigned.

Qualifications: Education and/or Experience Required:
- Bachelor's
degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Organizational
Behavior or related field preferred.
- 3+ years of HR
Generalist or Administrator experience, particularly with benefits administration,
contract administration, and immigration administration.
- Ability
to communicate effectively with various types of people, be able to
multi-task and thrive in a time critical environment.
- Advanced
knowledge of MS Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Advanced
knowledge of Google Apps, including Gmail, Calendar, and Drive.
- Excellent
verbal and written communication, organization, time management, and
negotiation skills
- Strict adherence to confidentiality and high ethical standards with
proven ability to deal with sensitive and confidential information.
- Ability to
prioritize and complete a wide variety of tasks efficiently within a
high pressure environment while meeting strict deadlines.
- Proven ability
to interact effectively within and outside the organization.
- Must be a
self-starter and detail oriented.
- High integrity
and a real sense of ownership and accountability of projects.
- Consultative,
influential, facilitative and collaborative and are able to manage in a
changing and ambiguous environment.
- A flexible
& proactive style – experience in a creative environment is
preferred

Working Conditions
and Environment/Physical Demands:
- This position will
be based in Los Angeles or Orange County, CA.
Office
working environment. - Hours
for this position are based on normal working hours but will require extra hours
pending production needs.
- Walking/bending/sitting.
