Generalist Developer/TD (Commercials & VR)

Purpose of the job:

This role provides support and development for the Commercials and VR, leveraging and extending existing pipeline to meet evolving requirements.         

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Work with Commercials and VR Pipeline Supervisors as well as Project Supervisors to identify, promote and extend existing tools applicable to these domains.
  • Assist artists with troubleshooting and general pipeline support.
  • Ensure software development follows studio policies and guidelines.
  • Work closely with other Technical Directors and Pipeline to ensure that the needs of the Commercials and VR are understood.  

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience Required:

  • Production experience in computer animation, visual effects, or game industry.
  • Experience with tool integration into existing or new pipelines.
  • Experience with Maya, Houdini, Nuke or other 3rd Party Animation systems.
  • Proficiency in Python, as well as a general understanding of software development principles and practices required.
  • Familiarity with game engines such as Unity or Unreal Engine a plus.
  • Experience with C++, and one or more relevant DCC APIs a plus.
  • Ability to establish priorities, and work independently or within a group
  • Excellent Communication skills in dealing with both technical and artistic groups.

Working Conditions and Environment/Physical Demands: 

  • Office working environment.
  • Hours for this position are based on normal working hours but will require extra hours pending production needs.
  • Walking/bending/sitting.
