VFX Producer
Description
Purpose of the job:
The VFX Producer is responsible for administering the
show visual effects budget and partners with the facility VFX Supervisor to
oversee all resources required to produce high quality work on schedule. This position acts as the primary liaison
between Digital Domain and the client VFX team.

Essential
Functions/Responsibilities:
- Reviews client materials (scripts, storyboards, and
pre-vis) with VFX Supervisor and technical supervisors in order to generate
visual effects breakdowns and bid
- Oversees client correspondence and acts as primary liaison
with all client side parties
- Supports VFX Supervisor in client reviews and
facilitates feedback to client
- Identifies potential production problems and works
with Executive Producer and VFX Supervisor to ensure creative decisions can
be completed within budget and on schedule
- Manages all requirements for client live action,
element, or miniature shoot(s)
- Responsible for the management of client turnover
schedules
- Works with Digital Producer to ensure proper
scheduling and allocation of crew and digital resources within the budget
- Schedules and manages facility deliveries, including
trailers and other special requirements; communicates changes to Executive
Producer and studio management team
- Works with Production Accountant to manage all aspects
of show budget, including accurate projections, and weekly EFC reporting
- Approves all show budget costs
- Monitors changes to scope of work, including shot
turnover re-bidding; maintains documentation for all changes and issues
client change orders as needed
- Creates and distributes weekly status report to client
and DD Executive Staff
- Mentors Production staff and participates in show
performance appraisal process and post-mortems

Education and/or
Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s
degree in film, art, communications or related field
- 8+ years experience in production management or
supervisor role for feature film visual effects required
Skills, Abilities,
Special Licenses or Certificate:
- Demonstrated
organizational, project management and leadership skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office
applications required; experience with production tracking software and asset
management software a plus
- Excellent
organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to
resolve conflict
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a high pressure
environment

Working Conditions and
Environment/Physical Demands:
- Office working environment.
- Hours for this position are
based on normal working hours but will require extra hours pending
production needs.
- Walking/bending/sitting.
