Accounting Manager

Purpose of the job:       

Digital Domain, the Academy Award-winning feature film and commercial visual effects studio located in Los Angeles, CA, is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager for its Finance Department, who will coordinate and manage key financial processes, including month end close, treasury needs and cash flow forecasting, financial planning, reporting and budgeting. This position will report directly to SVP, Corporate Controller.  

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the day-to-day general ledger accounting and reporting
  • Ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP and internal controls
  • Responsible for the preparation, coordination, review and analysis of the management reporting package for month-end
  • Work with cross-functional teams to manage accurate accounting and reporting
  • Review and finalize Trial Balance, P&L, Balance Sheet
  • Review and finalize variance analysis
  • Prepare and review Inter-Company allocations
  • Prepare and review account reconciliations, account analysis, accrual calculations, and other related accounting documents/schedules
  • Coordinate and review monthly, quarterly and annual statutory reporting

Education and/or Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA required
  • 7+ years Accounting/Finance experience
  • Experience working with multi-business units within a global corporation preferred
  • Revenue Recognition Multiple Elements preferred
  • Experience in consolidation and preparing reporting package of full financials to parent company
  • Experience with Oracle Fusion a plus
  • Previous management experience with excellent leadership skills and hands-on management style

Working Conditions and Environment/Physical Demands:  

  • Office working environment.
  • Hours for this position are based on normal working hours but will require extra hours pending production needs.
  • Walking/bending/sitting.
