Rhythm & Hues Studios is looking to fill a Linux / Unix Systems Administrator position immediately, to work in our dynamic digital visual effects studio in Los Angeles. Our primary application platform is Linux running CentOS.  The selected candidate will join the team of talented Systems Administrators supporting our VFX production team. LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY

RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Linux / Unix Systems Administrator (Hardware / Software)
• Technical support and General trouble shooting for commercial and award winning proprietary applications and pipeline.
  
• General system administration for account set up with Idap server and mail server
• Printer set up and support
• Disk usage clean and support
• Workstation setup and deployment
• Render monitoring and wrangling
• General I.T. support and maintenance duties
• Collaborate with our international offices
  

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• 2-3 years experience as a system administrator. Should have some understanding of the Linux/windows/mac environment
• Knowledge with Linux installation and application deployment
• Mac OS and Windows application deployment and integration is a plus
• knowledge and troubleshooting experience with hardware components, including internal/external RAID devices and Intel compatible PC hardware
• Some experience in monitor resolution, monitor calibration, projector and amplifier.
• Add, move, change workstations, computers, monitors, desks – Some lifting required.
• Experience working in an Animation / VFX production studio a plus
• Knowledge of render queue monitoring or render wrangling a plus
• Ability to work non-regular hours occasionally
