About this Position
DHX Studios - Vancouver is currently seeking BG Layout Artists to help create fun, graphic and angular landscapes for one of our current productions! This is an excellent opportunity for passionate artists that enjoy drawing very stylized background artwork.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the Key BG designs as reference to draw rough and clean layouts for all assigned sequences
• Complete all layouts ensuring style and quality of show is met
• Complete all layouts within assigned deadlines
• Follow the direction of the Layout Supervisor
• Ensure all artwork is properly backed up and stored appropriately
• If applicable, help out in other departments as needed

Qualifications

• Degree/Diploma from a recognized animation program
• Strong drawing skills and an understanding of perspective
• Comprehension and knowledge of painting in Photoshop
• Knowledge of Flash, Harmony, or Maya an asset
• Previous work experience on an animated television series (2D) preferred
• Ability to communicate in a professional and positive manner
• Ability to take direction and apply notes from Supervisors
• Desire to learn and work as part of a team
• A sharp wit and a great sense of humor!
