Mikros Animation is the animation studio of Mikros Image Group, a company specializing in the creation of digital visual effects. Mikros Animation is currently developing several 3D animated movies in the studios of Paris, London and Montreal.
Job Description :
The Operations Managers is the one to assure an easy running of the Studio here in Montréal. He adapts to the needs of current and ongoing projects. Along with the responsibility of maintaining good performance of operations within the studio, this position also requires an operational vision on the short and long term, therefore providing a daily support to current productions.
Attached to the COO of Mikros Image Paris, all principal responsibilities of the employee will be the following :
Responsibilities :
Efficiency and operational development:
- Force de proposition sur les outils et moyens de pilotage référents aux productions;
- Management and working with Production teams on planning’s fabrication, adjustments in the studio, production follow-up on an operational level;
- Follow-up on infrastructure adjustments to guaranty a well management of the studio (conference rooms, Visio conference, data processing equipment…);
- Management and development of the work space, layout planification and moving of the fabrication teams in collaboration with the production Directors;
- Management of miscellaneous tasks related to relocation of inter-group staff (managers, directors, producers, etc.) : traveling and housing reservations, car rentals, etc.
Management of material resources:
- Along with the IT team, management of the material resources for the studio. Planification of needs, followed by purchasing procedures and exploitation licenses (stockage, render farm, work stations, etc.);
- Support the technological recommendations made by the productions related to the IT team.
Reporting and budget management:
- Along with the Finance team, budgetary management of the studio.
- Definition and consolidation of the operations performance indicators (budget, expenses, investments) and follow-up of any associated financial reporting;
- Along with the IT team, budgetary follow-up related to development and infrastructure maintenance;
- Follow-up and report costs for work space adjustments ;
- Follow-up and control the cohesion and team spirit by managing efficiently the budget. “Life quality and Professional well-being” (events + well-being) in respect to deadlines and to the budgetary plan;
- Management of a small studio operations team;
- In charge of any security related devices in the work space;
- Perform all other related tasks may be assigned by the Direction, managers or by any other person designated by it;
Qualifications :
- Certification in management, administration or related discipline;
- Proficiency in budgetary management;
- Sens of detail, sense of priorities and resourcefulness;
- Autonomy, initiative, adaptational capacities and strong organizational skills;
- Multitasking, ability to work under pressure and in teams;
- Significate experience in management of enlarged projects;
- Deep knowledge of production environments and its field;
- Experience in animation studios or in VFX is a must;
- Strong anticipation capacities;
- Analytical and synthetic skills;
- Proactive;
- Interpersonal skills;
- Excellent bilingual communication skills (English and French) - written and spoken;
- Knowledge of PC environments and of the Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.);
- Must be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada and available to work in Montreal, Quebec.
