We are a fully distributed, international game development studio, currently seeking an extremely talented and experienced Art Director to join our growing team! Our current title takes place in a bright, fun, stylized world, full of silly animals, characterized vehicles, vividly delightful environments of various biomes, and a sleek yet inviting modern UI. Our Art Director
There is no way to fully quantify art, or the artist. A few qualities, however, will be essential to success in this role:
Commitment to excellence, setting new standards of visual perfection
Ability to step into a project in-progress, to identify and prioritize areas of the game most needing directorial attention
Experience working with distributed teams and remote collaborators
Ability to organize and lead a team of multidisciplinary artists
Hands-on experience with current art production tools, process, and pipelines
The Role
We are a small, tight-knit team, with many shared responsibilities and a spirit of pitching in wherever we can. As our Art Director, it will be your core responsibility to...
Lead the visual development of the project, from the high level down to fine detail
Maintain daily supervision over Artists and their work; hold regular Dailies sessions to provide consistent and regular feedback to Artists
Ensure that the artistic style is consistent across all disciplines
Communicate daily with team leads and management to ensure that all needs and concerns of the Art Department are known and being addressed
Maintain and communicate a strong knowledge of innovative game production technologies and the capabilities / limitations of these technologies as they relate to project goals
Evaluate outsourcing partners, contractors, and direct hires as necessary
