2D Compositor (Traditional Animator)
Description
Powerhouse Animation is a 2D Animation service studio comprised of highly skilled animators, illustrators, artists, compositors, producers, and directors. We produce animation for television, film, video games, commercials, music videos, explainer videos, educational content, and more! We are looking for talented After Effects artists to join our team!
This position is a full-time position for our studio in Austin, TX. All applicants must be willing to relocate.
Requirements:
- Must demonstrate expert proficiency with Adobe After Effects and its assorted plugins and scripts
- Must be self-motivated, self-managing, and have a passion for animation
- Must be able to adhere to tight schedules with minimal supervision and work well under pressure
- Must have excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Must be receptive to art direction and perform well within a team setting
- Must have a good sense of timing, lighting, and camera direction
- Must have a keen eye for detail
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with Creative Directors to develop the visual style for a given project
- Assemble animation and background assets into completed shots while adhering to the technical guidelines for a given project
- Add camera animation using the After Effects built-in camera
- Use After Effects to embellish and enhance shots using a combination of effects, lights, plugins, and stock footage while remaining coherent with the project’s visual style
- Monitor renders closely, fix errors, and troubleshoot bugs to ensure that renders are delivered on time and without issues
- Assemble individual scenes and audio in Adobe Premiere for final export
Pluses:
- In-depth knowledge of industry standard codecs and compression settings using Adobe Media Encoder
- Experience working in a PC-based environment
- Familiarity with animated visual language, lighting, and effects
- Proficiency with After Effects expressions
- Prior experience with traditional character and effects animation
- Experience rigging and animating 2D assets in After Effects
- Experience with Cinema 4D and handling 3D assets especially camera projection
