The Macintosh team is seeking talented technical leadership in a System Architecture team. This is a management position. The ideal candidate has core competencies in several functional areas of desktop and laptop computers, applications and operating systems. The team will be composed of hardware architects experienced with Mac systems, software, CPU, graphics, memory, storage and I/O micro-architectures as well as experts in the various professional workflows and tools.

The developer engagement manager will be responsible for a team charged with ensuring the best customer experience across a host of Mac professional applications including video, photo, 3D, CAD, audio and others supplied by different software companies. The team will work with developers to identify problem areas that compromise app performance to ensure apps are fully optimized on Mac hardware, focusing on the critical aspects of professional workflows. The team will also have influence on various aspects of system architecture and critical silicon such as CPUs and GPUs.
 

Key Qualifications:
•A minimum of 7-10+ years of experience in small to mid-size group technical management
•Knowledge of computer architecture fundamentals, software development, compiler, operating system and driver fundamentals is very desirable
•Experience with professional applications usage a plus (such as video and photo editing, 3D animation, CAD, etc.)
•Candidate must possess excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with third-party apps developers as well as with cross-functional engineering and product management teams
•Experience with Mac systems is a plus.

Description:
Work with the developer relations account managers to foster deep technical engagements at key developers and focus the team on highest priority aspects of customer workflows.

Ensure relevant workflows are understood and thoroughly documented and work with technical marketing to ensure definitions correspond to customer usage cases.

Work with the professional app workflow experts and the architecture teams to identify system bottlenecks and recommend changes at the app, OS, frameworks, and driver levels and potentially hardware improvements (CPUs, GPUs, memory, I/O and storage). The team will also inform the Mac system architecture team to assist with future product definition, CPU and GPU micro-architectures and features.

 

Education:
BS with 7+ years in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or similar degrees required.
