Director, Developer Tools Product Management

Qualcomm is seeking an energetic, creative and experienced director level product manager to drive the company's Snapdragon application developer tools product strategy and roadmap. You will work closely with many different technology and business teams across Qualcomm to ensure that our customers, partners, and internal teams have the software tools they need to build compelling, new experiences with Qualcomm's Snapdragon processors that are found in billions of consumer devices worldwide, from smartphones to virtual/augmented reality devices, to mobile PCs, to all sorts of automotive, entertainment, embedded and IOT devices. You will be expected to provide leadership, bridging the technical and business worlds as you engage with key external partners and internal technology teams to define a tools product vision. You will also play a key role in defining and executing strategies to achieve that vision, utilizing your proven analytical and business skills to break down complex problems into concise requirements for the creation of outstanding SDKs profilers, debuggers, and other components of leading developer tools. You must be an experienced manager who knows how to motivate staff and influence the organization around you to execute strategic plans.

The successful candidate will also be able to build strong external partnerships, evangelize products & technologies, and drive all developer outreach activities, including both large and small training events and partner engagements related to Snapdragon tools products, as part of the visual technologies product management team. An openness to frequent domestic and occasional international travel is essential. Successful candidates will be able both think strategically and will have a proven track record of being able to execute product plans efficiently. An innate ability to multitask and adapt quickly to changing business needs is also essential.

Minimum Qualifications

12+ years in the following areas required:

·  Product management experience, with a focus on defining and deploying commercial quality software tools products and technologies

·  Experience in a software engineering leadership role related to designing and developing middleware, tools, or services for large software systems

·  Experience with software application development tools in the mobile apps and/or gaming industries

·  A willingness and ability to travel both domestically and internationally, often on short notice

Must have technical knowledge of at least three of the following areas:

·  virtual/augmented reality

·  video compression or processing

·  3D graphics

·  digital signal processing

·  computational photography

·  computer vision

·  mobile display technologies

·  Heterogeneous computing

·  Android

Preferred Qualifications

·  Gaming developer ecosystem experience with Unity or Unreal game engines

·  Knowledge of VR video software packages

Education Requirements

Required: Bachelor's, Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science
Preferred: Master's, Business Administration and/or Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science
