DHX Media – Vancouver is looking for an experienced Design Generalist to join our team!

The Design Generalist role is perfect for a person who loves to mix it up and try new challenges! We’re searching for talented artists who are experienced in Character, BG, and Prop Design and/or Colour. We're looking for portfolios that demonstrate variety, passion and a strong understanding of human/creature form for one of our 2D animated series! 

WHAT YOU’LL GET TO DO:

• Work with the Art Director and other Designers to create engaging, performable characters and props according to the style of the production
• Translate character description and attitude from script to visual design
• Submit multiple design variations and revisions based on feedback from Directors
• Create model sheets of character turnarounds and facial/anatomical expressions
• Organize and manage work and files efficiently
• Other tasks and responsibilities as required for completion of the project

WHAT YOU BRING:

• Experience designing characters and/or props on a series 
• Strong drawing ability and a solid sense of design for 2D animation
• Degree/Diploma from a recognized animation school desired
• Ability to work digitally (Photoshop, Flash, Toon Boom, etc.)
• A strong understanding of proportion, balance, perspective, dimension and dynamism
• Ability to take direction and work collaboratively within a team
• Ability to communicate professionally and positively
• Well organized with good time management skills
