About Lytro Immerge:
Lytro Immerge is the world’s first professional Light Field solution for Virtual Reality. From our novel multi-camera rig/array capture system to our rendering, post production tools, and playback environment, Lytro Immerge provides content creators the ability to achieve lifelike presence through capturing the world in six degrees of freedom (6DoF). The system captures live action video for virtual reality with true stereo, parallax and realistic lighting offering  viewers more freedom of movement, superior  image quality, and ultimately a much more immersive experience.

About The Opportunity:
 The Lytro Immerge post-production team is growing and looking for a senior level FX Artist for Unity.  In this role, you will be focused on the production of groundbreaking VR content for Lytro and our partners.  Working closely with the VFX Supervisors, artists and engineers, you will establish FX requirements, develop FX assets, maximize realtime FX rendering techniques to accomplish the vision of our clients.

Main Responsibilities:

    • Integrate Lytro Immerge content into Unity and other game engines.
    • Prototype FX (particle, rigid body, fluid and volumetric effects) and interactivity (e.g. branching narratives) in Unity.
    • Unity engine optimization.
    • Define new Unity-integration workflows and educate both our internal teams and external customers on these new workflows.
    • Work closely with artists and engineers to implement new Unity-based technologies and workflows.
    • Effectively identify and communicate new Lytro Immerge feature requests to engineers.

Required Skills & Experience:

    • 3+ years of professional experience in cutting-edge real-time VFX in Unity.
    • Extensive experience with Unity, 3D software (Maya, Houdini, Max preferably), and Photoshop.
    • Good working knowledge of particle driven effects and shading systems.
    • Strong knowledge of game development workflow and pipeline.
    • Some experience developing pipeline tools.
    • Experience working collaboratively with engineers in look dev or research in small teams.  We’re highly collaborative at Lytro, and we want like-minded artists to join us.
    • C#, C++ or Blueprint skills a plus.
    • Excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills with both internal and external customers.  

Bonus Points:

    • Understanding of compositing (Nuke preferably) and rendering techniques.
    • Has a deep understanding of 3D asset game pipeline with respect to mobile devices.
