Assistant/Associate Professor, Game Design
Description
The School
of Art and Design at the University of Northern Colorado seeks an artist &
educator to provide exceptional instruction in game design. The successful
candidate will join a faculty of twenty-seven arts faculty and staff, in a
NASAD accredited School of Art & Design, situated within a College of
Performing and Visual Arts. This newly created area will enhance our studio
concentrations in computer graphics and graphic design with an emphasis on 2D and 3D modeling and animation, interface design,
storyboarding, illustration, and scripting. The successful candidate will build
on our existing framework and provide leadership and direction in expanding
curricular offerings, internship networks, and university co-curricular
offerings, especially with respect to game mathematics and programming.
The
successful candidate will participate in student advisement and mentoring,
professional development, and recruitment activities. The ideal candidate will
have a record of delivering both a creative and skills-based education, while
being skilled and knowledgeable about the technical processes related to
production.
This is a full-time
tenure-track position with an annual nine-month contract. Additional

Minimum Qualifications: Master’s
degree in art or related field with knowledge of 2D and 3D animation or
equivalent industry experience.
Preferred qualifications: Master’s
degree in 3D Animation, Game Design, Computer Art or related field. Commercial
experience with a successful record of working in 3D animation and/or game
design production. Teaching, defined broadly to encompass workshops, training, or
similar activity in addition to classroom experience.
