Designer, Visualization


Position Summary:

Purpose is to create world-class visualizations of products for market-ready imagery, animation or video. Responsible for applying advanced knowledge in 3D CGI Visualization to lead assigned tasks internally and support presentations to clients externally.  The role will report to the Studio Manager and take creative direction from the Producer and/or Director of engagements.  The position is based in Chicago, IL.

Primary Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Advanced knowledge in 3D CGI Visualization (what your craft is)

-        Materials:          Build and apply physically-accurate colors, materials and finishes

-        Lighting:             Apply advanced lighting techniques

-        Composition:     Create scenes and define camera settings

-        Animation:         Understanding of building product-based animations


Lead tasks (how you apply your craft internally)

-        Tasks:                Lead tasks assigned by Client Service or Producer of engagements

-        Rendering:         Understand optimized render processing

-        Workflow:          Suggest process enhancements to improve quality or optimize workflow


Support presentations (how you apply your craft externally)

-        Assets:               Provide visual assets for presentations and/or release to clients

-        Co-present:       Present visualization portion of presentations to clients when appropriate

-        Service:             Support Producer in building client relationship


Software Experience:

-        V-Ray experience required (Keyshot, Corona or other rendering software a plus)

-        Maya experience required (3DSMAX or other modeling software a plus)

-        Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects) experience required

-        Physical-based material design a plus
